dangers of hfcs and "King Corn"

Shortly after the movie "Supersize Me" came out in theaters, McDonald's started phasing out their "Super Size". This marked a pivotal moment within the fast food industry. It meant that one voice, one person could compete with a billion dollar industry and win! This day gave me hope and reassurance that we, no matter how big or small, could make difference in our world.

For those of you who have been faithfully following my new blog you know that I am passionate about doing away with the evil High Fructose Corn Syrup. I am so sick of finding it in practically every product at the supermarket and hate the fact that if I want to go out to dinner the odds of me ingesting this poison are pretty high.

Ladies and gentleman, my prayers have been answered! Today I heard about a new documentary entitled, "King Corn" and it's all about - you guessed it - High Fructose Corn Syrup.

After reading the reviews I am that much more excited to go see it. It's about two young guys who decide to move to Iowa, grow an acre of corn and follow it through the food system. What they find out is eye opening. The documentary also discusses obesity in America as well as the farming industry.

It's a movie like this, I'm hoping, that will change the way America feeds its loyal citizens for many years to come.

If anyone is interested in going to see this film let me know. Let's rally up the troops! For more information on the movie itself, check out my list of favorites!

Kudos to you! Now just be sure to mention that we need labels for gene altered foods as well, and we'll be on the road to a better future!
