Before and After Weight Loss Pictures

I hate to toot my own horn, but it occured to me that it's been exactly one year since I got the okay from my doctor to start working out. I am happy to report that I have lost all of my baby weight and then some! In fact, I am the size I was when I first met my husband back in 2000.

But size is not the only thing that matters - I am stronger than I ever have been, have the metabolism of my dreams and a body fat ratio that is officially in the "athletic range".

Don't let me fool you though - just because the weight is off doesn't mean that I am in the clear. There are many, many ways to sabotage a healthy lifestyle. And anyone who has lost a significant amount of weight understands the fear that accompanies weight loss success. It's definitely bittersweet. No one wants to see all of their hard effort go to waste.

I definitely have a huge fear of gaining it all back (even gaining some of it scares me). Everyone knows that losing the weight is only half the battle. Maintenance becomes what my old Peace Corps buddy Paula would call, "a daily struggle". But enough of the negativity! I am here to tell you that if you have baby weight to lose or just weight you have gained throughout the years, you can lose it too.

Anyone who knows me will tell you that I have one of the biggest appetites on the planet. That is why if I am not careful I will gain back the weight in a heartbeat. In fact I always tell people that if I were on a deserted island all I would want is a lifetime supply of buttery scones. LOL. So if I can do it, so can you!

All it takes is a little bit of effort everyday and the desire to actually care about your body and what you put inside of it. You only have one body so treat it well.

Wow you look fantastic!! And you are so right...as tough as it is to take off, it's just as easy to put back on!! I too have the hugest appetite...I never get that full feeling, ever...so I have to eat scheduled balanced small meals throughout the day, or else, I'll be right back there. I've never met a food I didn't love, but I love looking great and feeling great a whole lot more :) Congrats on the Weightloss, you look happy, skinny.... and beautiful!!
